The National Election Commission set to convene on Monday (8) to decide on the date to conduct the Parliamentary Election.
Speaking at a media brief held today (03), the Chairman of the Election Commission - Mahinda Deshapriya confirmed that he has received the health guidelines in relation to conducting the General Election.
Noting that the Covid-19 threat prevails, Mr. Deshapriya said for the first time in history, a health officer would be placed at every polling station.
Therefore, he urged all those in the health sector to apply for postal voting. He added the deadline to apply for postal voting, (originally set for today) has been extended to June 08.
