COLOMBO (News 1st) – Customs officials have apprehended a suspect who had attempted to smuggle in illegal foreign cigarettes from Dubai. The cigarettes were valued at over Rs. 1.7 million. The suspect, a 32-year-old resident of Naththandiya Chilaw was fined Rs. 150,000. The seized cigarettes were confiscated.
