Taxes on imported potatoes increased

The government has decided to increase the special commodity levy imposed on imported potatoes.

Accordingly, the special commodity levy of Rs.20 per one kilo of imported potatoes has been increased to Rs.50 with effect from yesterday (08).
 

President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy has issued the gazette related to the tax revision.
