New MPs nominated to COPF & Committee on Parliamentary Business

Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, yesterday (Feb. 10) announced the list of MPs who were nominated to serve in the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) and the Committee on Parliamentary Business in the fourth session of the Ninth Parliament.

The nominations were made by the Committee of Selection.
 
The Speaker announced that the following Members have been nominated to serve in the COPF, in terms of the provisions of the Standing Order 121 of Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament.

The MPs are : Vidura Wickramanayaka, Nalin Fernando, Shehan Semasinghe, Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Dr. Suren Raghavan, Anupa Pasqual, Johnston Fernando, Wajira Abeywardana, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Duminda Dissanayake, Nimal Lanza, U.K. Sumith Udukumbura, Isuru Dodangoda, Premnath C. Dolawatte, Attorney-at-Law M.W.D. Sahan Pradeep Withana, Madhura Withanage and Prof. Ranjith Bandara.

The Speaker also announced that, in terms of the provisions of the Standing Order 115 of the Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament yesterday, the following Members have been nominated with the Speaker as the Chair, the Deputy Speaker, the Deputy Chairperson of Committees, the Leader of the House of Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, the Chief Government Whip and the Chief Opposition Whip, by the Committee of Selection, to serve in the Committee on Parliamentary Business :

The MPs are : Nimal Siripala de Silva, Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, Douglas Devananda, Mahinda Amaraweera, M.U. M. Ali Sabry, PC., Kanchana Wijesekera, Naseer Ahamed, Chamal Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, Gamini Lokuge, Wajira Abeywardana, C. B. Rathnayake, Rohitha Abegunawardhana, Namal Rajapaksa, and Sagara Kariyawasam.
