3,009 suspects arrested during weekend operation by Police

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested 3,009 suspects during a special weekend operation in connection to multiple malpractices. The operation involved 14,927 Police Officers & 52 Police K-9 Units, said Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana. 431 suspects were arrested on suspicion for their links to crimes while 645 suspects were arrested on warrants.
