Ranil nominated for UN Secretary General post - John

There is some truth to social media reports that claim UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has been nominated for the post of UN Secretary General, confirmed MP John Amaratunge. Amaratunge noted that Wickremesinghe had been requested to take up this post by the UN at the next session and at present he is considering this proposal.
The MP noted that it is his personal view that Wickremesinghe should take up this post, adding that it is a great privilege for a Sri Lankan to be awarded such a position which holds international recognition and authority.
