The ‘Deshaya' newspaper reports that a university teacher is to be fielded as the candidate for the upcoming presidential election from the JVP.
Several senior university teachers aligned to the JVP and professionals have discussed this issue.
No final decision has not arrived yet.
However, a JVP MP will not contest for the next presidential election.
Until the Presidential election is officially announced, the JVP will not reveal its candidate.
