Vasu Requests Corruption Probes Against, CBK, Ranil

In the light of government instructing Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to commence an investigation into New York Times article’s allegations, Joint Opposition topdog and Rajapaksa camp stalwart – Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara has lodged a complaint with the CID admonishing the Police to commence probes into corrupt activities allegedly done during the tenures of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe supposedly amounting to over Rs 200 billion.

Nanayakkara expressed alarm that not only the Police and even the Attorney General has neglected to take any action despite Supreme Court Directives.

“Whilst clearly for political reasons prominence is given to recent similar allegations, my Complaint which was established by Supreme Court findings of illegal and fraudulent misappropriation of public funds remains without any action,” he further charged.
